Woburn Abbey Wedding

On Friday the 26th of August, my beautiful cousin and her amazing fiancé tied the knot in the most perfect wedding ceremony at Woburn Abbey. The weather could not have been better and the grounds were spectacular - there's nothing quite like driving up to a wedding while groups of gorgeous deer stare back at you! It was honestly like something from a film. I didn't miss a single opportunity to document the special day, and my cousin ever so kindly has let me share my snaps on here with you, so without further ado, let's crack on!

Here's me being wedding ready with my fresh makeup (cat-eye courtesy of my sister) and looking forward to a glorious day getting ever so slightly boozy with the fam. As soon as you walked in to the gallery the views were stunning - sculptures and flowers everywhere you looked!

Outside was just as gorgeous..

And now.... the family photos. It is extremely rare that the four of us (me, sis, mum and dad) have the opportunity to get dressed up and attend something like this, so we spent a good half hour trying to get some decent photos together. Trying being the operative word here.

Apparently there's just something about getting my photo taken I find overwhelmingly amusing. Eventually however, we did get a couple of decent snaps.

But it didn't last for long..

Okay enough of us and our inability to photo well. After a few drinks and canapes it was time for the actual wedding, so we all made our way inside to our seats.

And after a couple of minutes of everyone getting settled, came the moment we had all been waiting for.

Doesn't she look stunning!?

I am certain there is no dress in existence that would suit Rachel more than the one she picked, it's just so perfect! The vows were exchanged and then the happy couple were pronounced man and wife.. look at their cheesy grins!

Following on from the vows we all went outside into the gorgeous sunshine to get some pictures as a group, and then had a bit of time to relax before the speeches and food. Look at the beaut scenery.

Sorry I just couldn't resist, 22 going on 11.

Aaaanyway, when we made our way back inside the tables were decorated just as beautifully as you'd imagine. So many flowers!

We were also treated to some thoughtful wedding favours, including a donation to Cancer Research, a charity extremely close to Rachel and Steve's heart. It really was such a nice touch.

After a number of tear-jerking speeches the waiters started mulling around the tables offering baskets of warm bread and endless drink top ups. The bread was delicious but to be honest I was just stupidly excited about getting my starter, because it sounded so unreal.

Pastry, goats cheese, tomato and a whole lake of balsamic sauce - THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I polished this off in record speed time and then had a taste of my sister's starter as well (I know, greedy isn't even the word), and was yet again delighted by the flavour party in my mouth.

Okay, for the main course - another absolute fave of mine - risotto.

Just as tasty as you'd imagine (and great for soaking up the alcohol if you need a bit of levelling out), all washed down perfectly with this gorgeous crème brûlée...

Dessert so nice, ya gotta snap it twice.

If I could finish every meal with one of those I would be an extremely content human being. So so soooo delish. Okay, while our food was digesting we were treated to performances from an amazing magician who absolutely shook my world upside down with the insane tricks he did - I genuinely struggled to pick my jaw back up from the floor. We had a few more drinks and sat out in the massive garden and then all gathered back inside once more for Rachel and Steve's first dance...

Yes, more tears were shed.

The rest of the evening was spent dancing to live music and making occasional trips to the bar, until at around half eleven it was sadly time for us to head home. I really can't thank Rachel and Steve enough for letting us be part of their special day, I tried to capture as many moments as possible but even all these pictures just don't do justice of how magical the whole occasion was! I'm so honoured to have witnessed the marriage of such a perfect, loving couple and would like to wish them and their daughter Amelie a great time honeymooning in Dubai! xxxxxxxxxxx
