Jahméne - Unfathomable Phantasmagoria

Hey you beautiful readers! I have something super exciting to share with you on here today and I know you're gonna love it. It's a little different from my usual genre as music isn't something I ever really blog about, but when I got the chance to be involved in this lil project I just couldn't say no!

I recently got emailed about some new music from Jahméne Douglas (if you're wondering where you recognise him from he was the extremely talented runner-up to James Arthur on The X Factor in 2012!) and after listening to a couple of tracks from the private link I new instantly that it was right up my street.

The new album, Unfathomable Phantasmagoria, begins with a voice over from Samuel L. Jackson - a feature which is both seriously f*cking cool and a great indicator of how sick** the rest of the album is. (**Sick in this context means awesome, not vomit - just for you mum.).

The overall feel is a really chilled, positive vibe with influences of R&B, soul and gospel.. but then it also reminds me a little of George Michael (listen to the track 'Look Up', it's absolutely stunning and the sexy saxophone is to die for) and even Prince in others. So yes, it appeals to a lot of tastes! It goes without saying that Jahméne's vocals are ahhh-mayzing, but the album has also showcased his creative abilities as co-writer for many of the tracks - talented guy! On creating his album, Jahméne commented:

‘I have been paired with some incredible people. This album wasn't ever something I was going to rush and it hasn't been easy. Each person has understood that and helped me create this labour of love allowing it to be everything I wanted.’
Now here's the exciting bit! I'm allowed to give two of you lucky readers a signed copy of the new album - all you have to do is enter the giveaway we've got running on Twitter to be in with a chance! Follow me (@shedreamsblog) and Jahméne (@jahmene) and retweet THIS tweet then you're done :)
Hope you've enjoyed my first proper music review and good luck guys! If you want to treat yourself to Jahméne's new album you can order it HERE.
