My New Summer Essential - Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

A trusted fake tan is an absolute summer essential for someone like myself who continually wishes they were blessed with naturally bronzed or olive skin. If I'm honest I like to keep a bit of glow going all year round and there is never a moment when I don't have at least some kind of self tanner stocked up at home, but now the weather is FINALLY allowing us to flash more flesh I'm paying a lot more attention to my tanning routine than usual.

I actually bought this product on a whim when I was browsing Boots in search of a tanner I that could apply post-shower before my night out (without ruining my clothes/making me smell etc) so I could wake up on Saturday with a nice bit of colour. The lady on the counter explained the benefits of this product to me really clearly - the main selling point is that you can choose the depth of your tan by choosing how many drops to apply to your moisturiser, so it really is 'made-to-measure' colour.

Unlike normal tanning products, you mix these drops with a moisturiser of your choice, meaning you still get to enjoy all the lovely scents and skin benefits of your favourite face/body products while developing a sun-kissed look at the same time!

I instantly fell in love with this product! Unlike what happens after my usual foam and mitt job I don't wake up to find I've missed a large patch at the back of my thigh or that it's coming off in the bend of the elbow - already making it a winner with me! My bed sheets aren't tinged and my room doesn't reek of tanning chemicals in the morning - the whole post application process is just a million times better.

The colour I achieve is a really natural glow and you can build on it whenever you feel like it needs topping up, you don't have to try and exfoliate the previous layers off to get a fresh base like you do with a load of other fake tans. Another huge plus point for me is that you can use the drops so sparingly to achieve good results the product will last you absolutely ages! It's £19 in Boots which I don't think is too bad anyway, but you'll definitely get your moneys worth.

I love the sleek packaging, it's pretty small so great for going away anywhere and the design ensures that there won't be any nasty spillages. I know it's not relevant to how well the tan works, but I love how it all comes packaged up neatly inside a glossy box with instructions slipped inside - definitely makes it a feel like a high end treat!

If you want to add something new to your tanning routine this summer or you're struggling to achieve natural results with what you're using at the minute I would 100% give this a go. I'm so glad I decided to give a try instead of going for the usual foams or lotions so I really would recommend it to anyone!

Has anyone else tried this or any others from the Clarins range? Let me know if you have any other recommendations in the comments!
