So I saw this news story the other day and it really really bothered me. Bothered is probably the wrong word, disgusted would be more appropriate. But yeah, it's pretty horrific. To summarise the article, a 26 year old model recently posed in an advert with unshaven legs, and as a result of this received a barrage of abuse alongside threats of rape. Imagine living a world where a woman is threatened with rape because she chooses to leave her body as it naturally is meant to be, I mean how completely messed up is this!? It inspired me to reach out to my female friends and see what their thoughts were on these issues, and here's what they said.

Why I'll always take chances

Nervously waiting in the Models1 reception in Covent Garden I suddenly thought to myself, ‘hang on, how did I end up here again?’.

So sure, I didn’t win the contract with Models1 x SkinnyDip, but entering the Instagram competition on the back of my ladies’ reminders (thanks CJ I will forever aspire to be organised like you) actually led me to be invited for the final casting at Models1 in London.

I've got the bank holiday blues (bad)

Okay so I know it's already Wednesday, and yes we've officially made it over the 'hump', but I'm still mourning the incredible long weekend that I had the pleasure of spending in Cambridge with my better half (just kidding he's also a proper weirdo like me). Cambs is always a favourite of mine as you can't beat a quaint lil' punt along the river with a glass of prosecco in hand, but this weekend felt extra special as we decided to stay over night and treat ourselves to a room at The Tamburlaine.

Kiss The Sky

Hi beauties! Been a little while since I've done an outfit post so I'm buzzing to share some pics with you and talk about one of my new favourite brands. I came across Kiss The Sky during one my usual 3-hour long Asos browses and immediately fell in love with the boho/girly/festival/casj kinda style. I picked out two items for myself - one of which was this rose/leopard print cami dress - and I've been mainly dressing it down with trainers and big cosy coats recently.

Philip Kingsley Summer Solutions

Summer is, and always has been, my favourite time of year. Hair gets lighter (or pinker in my case), skin gets freckly, nights are longer and mornings are brighter - all is good with the world again! Any time out of the office is spent lapping up Vitamin D like no one's business, and a calendar countdown to sun, salt water and sand is never far from my desktop. But, while I'm always super conscious of taking care of my face and skin during the summer, my hair doesn't really get the same level of attention. Cue Philip Kingsley!

National Stationery Week #WritingMatters

If there's one thing I will forever get excited about (maybe a little too excited - I won't deny it) it's stationery. I suppose I've never really grown out of that buzz you get when you're going back to school and get to pick your new pencil case, bounding round WH Smiths on a proper mission, so even at the age of 22, a shiny new pen or some swanky highlighters still get the heart racing. 

With this in mind, imagine my delight when I received an email about National Stationery Week - yes, an entire week dedicated to the joy of pens, pencils and everything in between. The #WritingMatters campaign champions the importance of handwriting and aims to encourage people, especially children, to continue using pen and paper alongside the rise of technology - something I can completely get on board with.

Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.

Heyaaaa. Finally found a minute to catch up with life as a blogger and as spring has well and truly sprung (iya lighter evenings!) I couldn't resist chucking a few florals on here. I picked up this absolute dream of a dress in the Topshop sale a couple of months ago and I'm only finally getting round to breaking it in - I refused to wear it with tights cuz there is definitely potench for it to look kinda granny-ish so it's gotta be bare legs with this number for me!

The Sunday Post

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm aware I haven't posted in quite some time so apologies for that but I was just having too much fun drinking copious amounts of wine and eating excessive portions of cheese over the festive period to even touch my laptop! I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas and a happy New Years (etc etc etc) but to be honest I'm pretty glad to be getting back into some form of routine again and being able to start a conversation without being asked how my New Year's was (yes - I had a nice Christmas, yep - New Year's is always a bit of an anti climax isn't it - now STOP WITH THE SMALL TALK PLZ). So, this post is just a general chit chat catch up kinda thing then hopefully some kind of regular structure will present itself on here over the next few weeks!
